ARTIST STATEMENT:

"I grew up in a small town in East Tennessee where I regularly attended a small Southern Baptist church on Sundays. I was heavily invested in the church life and even decided to attend a Baptist college to be a minister. Fortunately, I left religion some time ago and today, I'm quite astounded at the state of Evangelical Christianity. It isn't the same religion I grew up in. What once was wrong is now right. What was bad is now good. What was evil is now saintly. This art piece is my own commentary on the state of the church today. It's an oversized editorial cartoon in a sense. Perhaps you'll notice some truth in it."
