Painter, graphic artist and printmaker, born in Neath, Glamorgan. Attended Swansea School of Art, 1947–9 and 1951–4, with an intervening year at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts. He later resumed his studies after several jobs including teaching, studying at University College, Swansea, 1957–8, and Central School of Arts and Crafts, where he studied book production and relief printing. Afterwards worked for several publishers and handled a large number of commissions, including a book-jacket for Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood, for J M Dent, in 1958, graphic work for British Railways and other outlets as diverse as Shell and Melody Maker magazine. Group shows included Royal National Eisteddfod, SEA and South London Group.
