ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ruby Agnew (1899-1984) was born in San Diego and demonstrated artistic talent early in life. An art major, she graduated with honors and now, a retired floral designer, she has for the past ten years, dedicaled her life to oil and water color painting.

Among her teachers were Alfred Mitchel, Chester Burg, Ralph Love, Robert Landry, Stan Sowinski and Jean Chua Shen of the University of California at San Diego. And the combination of her talent, together with the efforts of these fine teachers, are reflected in her receiving awards from the California Women's Club, the San Diego Art Institute, The Carlsbad Show, best in the Mission Bay Art Festival, Southwest Art Gallery and the San Diego Federated Women's Club.

Ruby Agnew also teaches the Los Artistos Art Group and holds private classes.
