ARTIST'S NOTE: "I created this piece for an Easter art show about religion and spirituality. I wanted to distort a recognizable image of Jesus in order to make a statement about how individuals, groups, organizations and religions continually distort the message and the image of Jesus, usually for their own purposes and agenda. I love caricature, which is an art form of distortion so I chose to do a caricature and exaggeration of a traditional image of Jesus. The "X" in the title of this piece is pronounced like "Christ" so the title would be pronounced as "Christortion."
